
Shelanu means "ours"- A community designed by Teens. We bring together teens from 6 synagogues in Cincinnati: Adath Israel, Northern Hills, Rockdale Temple, Temple Sholom, Valley Temple and Wise Temple. Rabbis from all synagogues teach at Shelanu in addition to a talented teaching staff. Together we stimulate and challenge teens as they begin their independent Jewish lives.
Shelanu empowers individual teen exploration and Jewish pathways Students will be inspired to:

What does Shelanu Teach Shelanu creates courses and opportunities with input from the Teens. Courses includes text, Israel, Hebrew, Yoga, acting and music courses. Each semester is different! |
What are Shelanu’s Goals Our goal is that our graduates will have a foundational picture of how Judaism is a part of their lives. We work to provide them with a broad and relevant Jewish educational experiences. |
How is this accomplished

Learn Each semester, students pick electives. Electives span a wide array of subjects and modalities allowing participants to find a great fit. Some synagogues have required courses in tenth grade. |
Community Shelanu starts with free vegetarian dinner for students. While, optional, students are encourage to, meet up with friends and get to know other students. |
Experience Shelanu partners with local Jewish organizations to create off-site opportunities throughout the school year. |
